Different Kind of Time — Strapdance
22.08.21 at 3:00PM
Meeting place by Snarfari Sailing Club, Naustavogur
Artist talk with Anna Líndal, Sunday August 22nd at 3 pm.
This coming weekend (21 and 22 August) Anna Líndal will take over the construction cranes at Súðavogur. These days the cranes are being used for the construction of Vogabyggð, a new residential area in the Vogar area, but this weekend they will be taken out of gear with colorful straps dancing and moving in the wind. The takeover is a conversation with the work Different Kind of Time by the artist, which stands on the other side of the Elliðarár rivers, by the Snarfari Sailing Club area at Naustavogur. It will be possible to look at the construction cranes from various angles, including from that specific work. Together with the takeover, Different Kind of Time is an encouragement to stop up, look up and reflect on a different kind of flow in the urban landscape.
On Sunday the 22nd of August there will be an artist talk with Anna Líndal where she will talk about her contribution to The Wheel 2021. Participation is free and we encourage those interested to dress for the weather. We will gather at the Snarfari Sailing Club, the group will then walk together to the work.
The takeover will take place from the time work is stopped on the construction site Friday afternoon and until work starts again Monday morning.
