Hanan Benammar's work in the exhibition ACROSS THE GOLDEN BRIDGE is an ongoing project that constantly renews itself as a forum for conversations of strangers about six different topics.

The work has its place in dialogue; the phone number (+354) 5550004 is printed on cards that are circulated around the city of Reykjavik and gives an opportunity to for those interested to call the number and engage in a conversation with strangers based on six words; emptiness, chaos, silence, violence, borders, doubt.

The respondent, on the other side of the line, is anonymus and the work thus provides an opportunity for open-ended conversations of strangers, where curiosity, desire and a need for reflection are at work.

Hanan Benammar is an artist of Algerian-French origin, living in Oslo, Norway.
